From Kokuriko Hill (コクリコ坂から Kokurikozaka kara?, the name "Kokuriko" comes from the French "Coquelicot" (Corn Poppy)), is the second Studio Ghibli full-length theatrical feature film directed by Hayao Miyazaki's son Gorou, and was officially announced on 8 December 2010. Hayao Miyazaki provided the storyboards and co-wrote the screenplay with Keiko Miya for this adaptation of Chizuru Takahashi and Tetsurou Sayama’s 1980 shoujo manga, originally serialized in Kodansha’s Nakayoshi Shoujo magazine. This romantic coming-of-age tale about a pigtailed high school girl named Umi Komatsuzaka is set in 1963 in the port city of Yokohama. The film is scheduled to open in roadshow release during the summer of 2011 in Japan.
