The rights to the Halo film were given back to MSFT this year from Fox/Universal. This was information provided by Peter Jackson in a comic con interview. Now that the rights are back in the hands of MSFT one can assume they started back searching for possible film prospects through their newly founded 343 Industries production company.

Stuart Beattie was [inspired] to write a script for Halo Fall of Reach after the first film crumbled to the ground. Now in comes Spielberg after reading Beatties script wants to produce a Halo film. Now since the film rights are back in the hands of MSFT I dont think they will have a problem negotiating with Spielberg on a Halo film prospect.

Whats interesting is that this will be a Disney branded Halo film of all goes through. Lets say Spielberg liked what he saw in District 9 and negotiates with Blomkamp on returning to the film with a guarantee it wont crumble down around him. Would that get him back into the directors chair?

Hört sich gut an, hatte immer gehofft, das der Film kommt. Doch ich hoffe mal das es diesmal ein Spielbergfilm wird indem Shia Labeouf nicht mitspielt .

Paul Verhoeven oder James Cameron wären mir zwar lieber gewesen. Wenn Spielberg das machen will, kann man aber davon ausgehen, daß es ein Hit wird.
